Fall is here!!

It seems like just yesterday we were going into spring. Where did the summer go??? Have you ever asked this same question? It seems so likely you have. We as a society have gotten so BUSY, we don't even stop to appreciate the Seasons or Family as much as we used to. Should we settle for this and accept it as a normal part of "life in the fast lane"? Should we do something to change it? I think this philosophical question should be asked by everyone. I'm presently asking myself this question. I can tell you one thing, that I don't want to be like society and lose my identity as an individual. I have gotten so busy this last summer with ALL the THINGS of life etc. that I feel I have dropped the ball and fumbled my family. I really need to work hard to get back to the place where God wants me to be. We have strived so hard to be where God whats us. As a Father I have been in trusted with many lives to Shepard and disciple. I need to regain my strength in Christ and rise to the occasion and accept my responsibility again as the leader of MY house. I need to stop and smell the delicate Roses of the family that God has given me, spend time with them and rebuild the example of Christ for those around us. I don't want to look back and reflect again and ask these same questions with out already knowing the answers. "As for me and my house we will serve the Lord". I will chose to reflect on each season for Gods goodness and grace to MY family.

This was sent to us from our neighbors. He is a voice of reason in Congress. We need to pray for our leaders in Congress to have Wisdom and Understanding that only the Lord can provide.

Happy Fourth of July!!!!!!

On July 3, 1776, John Adams wrote to his wife, Abigail, reflecting on what he had shared in Congress and, with prophetic insight, declaring the importance of that day:

" The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever.

You will think me transported with enthusiasm, but I am not. I am well aware of the toil and blood and treasure that it will cost to maintain this Declaration, and support and defend these States. Yet through all the gloom I can see the rays of ravishing light and glory. I can see that the end is worth more than all the means; that posterity will triumph in that day's transaction, even though we [may regret] it, which I trust in God we shall not."
